What do you mean I wasn't supposed to push that button?So... we meet again Dr. Tran! July 24 So wow... haven't visited this in a while...Yah, I really slacked off lol, went from fairly active to deadville, I'll post more later, but no time at the moment :) August 07 Epeen not big enough? This should helpAs if PC gaming wasn't expensive enough, Nvidia have unveiled a graphics card that will be known to shooter fans simply as 'God'. The $18K Quadro Plex 1000. How's your e-penis now? You could buy a pretty decent sports car for that kind of money. Or, according to Nvidia, you can have 12 mega pixel hi-def video, and a card (actually it's more like a series of cards) that will run every PC game due for release in the next century. "According to Nvidia, a node can achieve up to 64x full scene anti-aliasing (FSAA), deliver a performance of up to 148 megapixels on 16 synchronized digital-output channels and eight HD SDI channels. The firm says that the fill rate reaches 80 billion pixels/s while the geometry performance is rated at seven billion vertices/s." The cheapest model starts at $17,500, and it just goes up from there! When they're released in September, we'll probably give a few away. Or, maybe we'll buy a house instead! The only problem with owning one of these cards is you'd need about 20 of the latest CPUs in order to feed it data quick enough that the CPU wouldn't become a massive bottleneck. Of course, they're designed for integrated graphics computers and engineers, not really gaming! If anyone out there actually plans to purchase one of these suckas, we'd love to hear how many of your children you intend to sell in order to fund such a venture. Of course, we do not condone such things. August 05 Wow yah slacking hereSo yah...I've seriously slacked on posting anything really lately.
Big changes....
New car (yay!) My little roadster rocks!
New glasses - yah it was about time, the old ones were really a bad style, this go around I decided to let the cute lady at the store pick them out for me. Much better selection this time. Ended up getting the regular glasses and a pair of perscription sun glasses as well.
Went out on a nice date with her later that week, didn't hear much back after (oh well such is life I guess)
Entertained daily at work though which is always a bonus. The kids here are a riot most the time. Two come over to my office and complain about someone sitting in thier office asking them stupid questions and disrupting thier work... I happily pointed out the irony to thier statement and had a nice laugh about it :)
Little changes....
Finally got most the artwork hanging in my new place up here closer to work. Got a neat little corner table for my plant that refuses to die. Not that I've tried to kill it mind you, but it's been to hell and back, bought the t-shirt and wrote a blog in all it's travels. This thing went from a huge bushy thing to a stub in a move about 7 years ago... grew back, i forgot to water it for a while heh... so it was a stick with 3 leaves still clinging on after that bit. Got it healthy again and moved... got crushed, back to a stick with a couple leaves again *sigh* thought about chucking it, figured meh bigger pot it'll be happy... so after surviving yet another move and the move to the pot, it's currently flourshing in the new place in the corner next to two huge windows.
Picked up a BBQ, it's just a little portable joby, but so far it cooks like a champ and has a nice stand for it that folds up nicely. Even fits in the trunk of the car... nothing else goes in there with it but hey there ya go.
Starting to fix this thing back up, I'll try to get some more updates on what's going on later, maybe even post some pic's yah yah yah i know damn picky people!
June 01 Somewhat back but still in shockHere on the 19th early in the morning he passed away. Thankfully it was without pain for him after all he went through as it was.
For those that know me and are in the area, in lieu of flowers please feel free to make an in kind donation to your favorite charity organization or local school system.
I'll be out June 10th for the funeral at the family cabin.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and support while my family went through this tragety. May 12 Family emergency - won't be posting muchAs some know already Tuesday morning my step dad had a cardiac arrest. He's been in the icu since. This was a complete and total shock to everyone as he would be the last person you'd ever expect this to happen to. Eats well, exercises, doesn't smoke, and isn't a heavy drinker.
We found out this morning that it was a flu virus that got to his heart and weakened it, which caused him to have a cardiac arrest.
Currently we don't know if he's going to make it, the doctors prognosis isn't positive so we're preparing for the worst but still hoping for the best.
So until we know more I'll still be on IM but that's about it :( |
